The professional snowmobiler, whose machine landed on top of him during a violent crash on Jan. 24 at the Winter X Games, remains in critical condition with brain and heart complications.

Caleb Moore, a professional snowmobiler from Krum, Texas, was involved in a tragic accident on Jan. 24 at the Winter X Games In Aspen, Colo. during which his 450-pound snowmobile flipped on top of him. He was rushed to the hospital, and remains in critical condition.

“Caleb is in critical condition and is being closely monitored,” the Moore family said in a statement to ABC News through their spokesperson Chelsea Lawson.

"The Moores want to express their gratitude to all of Caleb's fans, friends and family for their strong support and ask for continued prayers in the coming days."

Caleb Moore’s Violent Accident At The Winter X Games

Caleb was competing in the Snowmobile Freestyle finals on Jan. 24, and attempted to perform a backflip on his machine. But he came up short on the flip, and the skis on his sled slammed into the landing, and his snowmobile flipped end-over-end.

Caleb flipped over the handlebars, and his 450-pound snowmobile landed on top of him. He lay on the ground for a few minutes, but eventually got up and was escorted off the source — but was quickly rushed to Aspen Valley Hospital with a concussion. He was later flown to St. Mary’s Hospital to Grand Junction, Colo.

Caleb Moore Underwent Emergency Heart Surgery

Caleb had emergency heart surgery on Jan. 25, and has been in intensive care ever since. But on Jan. 27, his family released a statement to ESPN:  ”His cardiac injury has led to a secondary complication involving his brain.”
