HollywoodLife.com reflects on the fun, revealing oufits you WON’T see at the Grammys on Sunday. Browse pics of Rihanna, Lady Gaga & more!
Sideboob! Nip slips! Underboob! No, I’m not listing HollywoodLife.com‘s favorite things ever; I’m listing the many wonderful things we won’t be witnessing at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 5, as producers have set strict — some might say “anti-fun” — wardrobe guidelines that all performers and attendees are required to follow — in what looks to be a preemptive strike against the blessed wardrobe malfunction.
So how should we mourn the loss of all this sexy fun? Why not take a look back at Grammys past, before this year’s show:
Sideboob Galore!
Rihanna was the poster-child for sideboob in 2012, when she walked the Grammys red carpet in a very skimpy black dress.
Toni Braxton looked like she needed someone to unbreak her dress back in 2001, when she showed up to the Grammys in a white dress with more cut-outs than a game of Operation.
No Pants? No Problem!
When Lady Gaga performed at the 2010 Grammys, her motto was clearly “No Pants, No Problem.” Except there was a slight problem: You could totally see her gaga!
Earlier in the evening, she walked the carpet in a wacky, purple dress that wasn’t much more conservative. Because of the way it curved up in the front, you could totally see her underwear — but hey, at least she wore them!
Fergie pulled a Superman in 2012, revealing her underwear with the assistance of a lacy, orange gown.
Of course, not all skin deserves to be seen. Comedian Margaret Cho sported an unforgivably ugly peacock dress to the Grammys in 2004, exposing every inch of her figure under sheer black fabric.
Now Let’s Go WAY Back In Grammys History!
But who could forget the mother of all scandalous Grammy gowns, Jennifer Lopez? When she showed up to the ceremony in 2000, wearing a loose green dress that plunged past her belly button, it was one small step for women — but one giant leap for double-sided tape.
And those are just a few of the fun, buzzworthy types of outfits you won’t be seeing at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. Browse our gallery, full of sexy Grammy fashion for more examples — and try not to weep too loudly.
