Leah Messer, you ended the ‘Teen Mom 2′ mid-season finale in tears and it was obvious that you were crying over your own self-destructive behavior. But sadly, you’ve only gotten worse since ‘Teen Mom’ was filmed.
Teen Mom 2 Leah Messer — you are hell-bent on seriously ruining your life. And even more worrisome — not giving the best start in life to your three baby girls.
Leah Messer Making Irresponsible Decisions
You were surrounded by flabbergasted loved ones on the Teen Mom 2 mid-season finale. They were stunned by your irresponsible and hurtful decisions.
You are already the mother of twin girls, Aleeah and Aliannah, now 3, one of whom has suffered from developmental issues and was recently hospitalized.
You’ve already been married to the twins’ father, Corey, and divorced. You cheated on Corey the night before your wedding with your ex-boyfriend, Robbie Kidd, and then you got engaged and pregnant within just a few months of splitting up with Corey.
That all adds up to a lot of responsibility and drama in your young life, not to mention – a lot of heartbreak.
Yet, instead of focusing on being the best mother you can be to your twins — who NEED attention — and trying to get a career together to support them outside of Teen Mom, you decide to complicate your life even further.
Leah: “Is This What You REALLY Want?”
You announce during the show that you have taken out your IUD — possibly without even informing your new fiance, Jeremy Calvert, and you are now pregnant with baby #3.
Leah — you barely know Jeremy. It was already foolish enough to get engaged to him after dating for just a few months.
But then you made your own situation worse by deliberately getting pregnant.
It’s like you wanted to simultaneously trap yourself and Jeremy into this new relationship AND also hurt ex-husband Corey Simms at the very same time.
It was a trifecta of hurt! Nice job, Leah. Jeremy is astounded when you give him the ‘good news’ over the phone.
And your poor mother, Dawn Spears, is stunned . She thinks you must be joking because it’s such a ridiculously nonsensical move.
She points out that you’re just 19 and already have twins and asks the key, bottom-line question: “Is this REALLY what you want?”
Yes, it is for some deep reason that you probably could never articulate.
You keep saying through the episode that you still have feelings for Corey and that confuses you. Did you get pregnant, just to hurt him?
If so — it worked. He’s in tears after you “deliver” the news to him when you hand over your twins for a visit.
He looks seriously distressed as his tears well up and he says that he’ll still give you emotional support. Later, he admits to his dad that he had still held out some hope that you two would get back together.
He also can’t believe that you would deliberately set out to have another baby when you’re just 19.
Leah Has Limited Her own Options in Life – Will She Hurt Her Daughters’ Futures Too?
And Leah honestly, how do you think you’re going to give a good life to these three children?
You managed to finally finish high school after first getting pregnant at 16 — and that IS a big accomplishment. Only 50 percent of teen moms earn a high school diploma by the age of 22, according to date from The Center for Disease Control.
But getting a high school degree is just one step towards building a financially sound life for you and your children. Plus, have you no career ambitions at all?
So far, your “career” and only source of income is Teen Mom 2, and that isn’t going to last forever. In fact, it will most likely only last another season or two and then your fame moment will be over.
You already sentenced yourself to being a teen mom and that means that it’s unlikely that you’ll go to college. Less than 2 percent of teen moms get a college degree by the age of 30, according to the CDC.
Teen moms are far more likely to live in poverty — more than 40 percent will do so by age 27, and sadly children of teen mothers often perform below average in school.
Is that what you want for your little girls and for yourself?
You yourself now have no time now for further education, which means you’ve dramatically limited your career options AND you’re dependent for financial support on ex-husband Corey and current husband Jeremy.
Leah Messer Needs To Do More With her life Than make babies and Drama
Well that’s… OK. But given your marital and relationship track records, how long will you be able to count on financial stability from your baby daddies to raise your children?
Sadly, the pregnancy that you announced on the mid-season finale ended in a miscarriage. But that didn’t stop you.
You didn’t decide to go put your IUD back in and focus on raising your twins and figuring out your true feelings for Corey and Jeremy.
No. Even though the episode ended with you crying because you weren’t sure about the pregnancy and you admitted that you still had feelings for Corey — you still continued down that destructive path after filming ended.
You got pregnant again and married Jeremy Calvert on Apr. 14, 2012, and gave birth to a new baby girl on Feb. 4, 2013.
Your fans can only hope that you’ve decided that you ARE in love with Jeremy at this point, and that you’re over Corey.
But judging from your past behavior — that’s highly unlikely.
At the ripe old age of 20, there could be way more dysfunction, drama and possibly more babies ahead.
Leah — let’s hope not. As a mother of three now — it’s time to grow up and stop behaving like a teen mom! Do you agree HollywoodLifers? Let me know!
