The mother of the 20-year-old who brutally murdered twenty kids and six adults, was laid to rest in New Hampshire on Dec. 21 — she was sleeping when he killed her just one week ago.
New details are still emerging as to why Adam Lanza gunned down his own mother Nancy Lanza, and then continued his shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary school on Dec. 14.
Adam was said to have been playing violent video games and was left home alone in the days leading up to the horrible tragedy. Adam reportedly wanted to join the Marines but his mother was worried about his mental state. New evidence suggests that perhaps Nancy wanted to “commit” her son and he learned of this and it enraged him.
We told you that Adam was burning his arms and legs with a lighter in the weeks before the shooting. He also suffered from Aspergers. This is a syndrome that can cause one to be withdrawn from society.
It’s unclear whether Nancy was buried or if it was just a memorial service. No one knows what will happen with Adam’s body.
Adam’s father, Peter Lanza, separated from Nancy in 2001 and they divorced in 2009. Adam has reportedly cut off his father two years ago when he remarried.
“Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured,” Peter said in a statement. “Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are.”
