Adam was labeled as a quiet guy who had never been in trouble with the law before but his inner demons are what those around him recognized. A new report claims he was inflicting harm on himself but burning himself with a lighter.
Adam Lanza didn't just want to hurt others, he also targeted himself. Two 20-year-old was reportedly burning his ankles and arms in the days leading up to the horrible shooting at
Sandy Hook Elementary School that took the lives of 20 children and six adults.
"Nancy told me he was burning himself with a lighter. In the ankles or arms or something," a friend of Adam's mother,
Nancy Lanza, told the
New York Daily News. "It was like he was trying to feel something. She just looked down at the glass and said, 'I don't know. I'm worried I'm losing him.'" A friend of Nancy's said that Adam was "getting worse" and that she looked "disturbed" when she recently spoke to her. "She was looking down at her glass and kind of talking slowly," the friend said. "You have to know Nancy to know how weird that was. She was just always so full of
