Trailer :: "Pacific Rim" Starring Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman Dec 13th 2012, 02:23 Trailer :: Pacific Rim When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea, a war begins that takes millions of lives and consumes humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon is devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge… * This just looks like one of those movies that you absolutely have to see at a movie theatre on a 30 foot screen. Whenever you start a trailer out with a blockbuster movie, mix in some VO about how great the human race is, a catchy line like “lets go fishin’”, and then a clip of one of those speeches, I’m in there. This looks like a good one. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini and Ron Perlman … the only thing missing from this trailer is a smokeshow chick heavily involved but I’m sure there is one or two in the movie. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.
