Didier Drogba has been back in London after the end of the Chinese Super League season, training with his old mates and the club to keep fit four the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations. On Thursday night, he hosted a dinner for players and backroom staff involved in Chelsea‘s Champions League victory over Bayern Munich in Germany last season. As if hosting the party wasnt enough, he also came bearing gifts…. Everyone got a ring.
Total cost for Didier is reported to have been around £800,000! Dammit man!
You know my favorite thing about Didier??? Obviously the guys is a great footballer, but he is also one of the most humble and nicest superstar athletes we’ve ever seen. I’m surprised that something like this didnt get out before it actually happened, because it takes a while to build rings like that and things like this ALWAYS get out – and not from outside sources – Usually its someone who is part of the stars PR team leaking it to the press to make said star look like a good guy. But we know Didier is a good guy. The guy builds schools and hospitals in his home country. Most interviews you see him in it looks like he wants no part of it and just wants to get back out there and play some football. He is my guy man, love this dude. The crazy thing is that this probably wouldn’t have gotten out either, if not for social networks.
