
The family mourning the loss of Jacintha Saldanha, the nurse who mistakenly transferred a prank call to Kate Middleton's hospital room on Dec. 4, has issued a statement regarding her death and requesting privacy. So sad.

Jacintha Saldanha's family begins to mourn their loss, they've issued a statement to the press regarding the apparent
suicide of the nurse/receptionist at King Edward VII Hospital who mistakenly transferred a
prank phone call from radio DJs at Sydney's 2Day FM station,
Mel Greig and
Michael Christian, pretending to be
Queen Elizabeth II and
Prince Charles, to
Kate Middleton's hospital room on Dec. 4.
In the statement issued to
Us Weekly on Dec. 7, Jacintha's family, comprised of her husband and two children, express their devastation over their loss:
"We as a family are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Jacintha," they said. "We would ask that the media respect our privacy at this difficult time."
Jacintha was found dead near the hospital at 9:30am on Dec. 6, according to TMZ. Paramedics on the scene were unable to revive her, and Scotland Yard is treating the death as a possible suicide.
