An argument after a Trey Songz concert may be what lead Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher to committing suicide at the team's training facility on Dec. 1, approximately an hour after shooting his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins dead.
Jovan Belcher, 25,
died of a
self-inflicted gunshot wound near Arrowhead Stadium on Dec. 1. His death occurred approximately an hour after he shot and killed girlfriend
Kasandra Perkins, 22. According to a new report, the couple argued after Kasandra returned home late following a
Trey Songz concert.
"Jovan and Kasandra were frequently seen arguing over the course of their relationship," a friend told the
Kansas City Star. However, she had no reason to believe their fights had ever become violent. On Friday night, Nov. 30, the friend added, "Jovan confronted Kasandra when she came home after watching R&B star Trey Songz perform in Kansas City." Unfortunately, details of their argument may never see the light of day. "Jovan was a happy, proud father, with pictures of his baby on his Facebook page," Jovan's agent
Joe Linta told
SI.com's Peter King on Saturday Dec. 1. "This is shocking. Something went crazy wrong, and we'll probably never know what it is."
