held out hope that the singer was still alive, despite initial reports that Jenni was one of seven
killed in a plane crash on Dec. 9. Sadly, their hopes were dashed on Thursday Dec. 13 when her remains were identified and returned to the family.
The remains of Jenni's publicist and the plane's co-pilot have also been identified, a government spokesman for Mexico's Nuevo Leon state told CNN. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Gerardo Ruiz Esparaza explained. "The impact must have been terrible." The plane began falling at a 45-degree angle 1.2 miles from where it ultimately crashed. Although more details are being released about the actual crash, Gerardo says the cause is still unknown. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board sent a team to join the investigators, but it will take days to locate every part of the Learjet 25 and determine the cause. There has been some question about the 78-year-old pilot of the plane, but Gerardo assures that he had a valid Mexican pilot's license.
