U.S. Soccer Announces A New Women's League to Begin Play in Spring of 2013 + Megan Rapinoe Interview

U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati announced yesterday the formation of a new women's league that will begin play in the spring of 2013. U.S. Soccer will play a major role in organizing and running the league to ensure a business model with a focus on sustainability.

U.S. Soccer will subsidize the salaries of up to 24 U.S. Women's National Team players while the Canadian Soccer Association will do the same for up to 16 Canadian players and the Federation of Mexican Football will do the same for up to 12 Mexican players.
