Dwayne Johnson stars as a father whose son is wrongly arrested for selling illegal narcotics. To save his son from a lengthy prison term, the father agrees to go undercover as a drug dealer with the gang his son was involved with. But when the father suddenly rises high in the gang’s hierarchy and then is offered a chance to be part of the inner circle of a vast drug cartel, the stakes get a lot higher.
* I was just making the comment the other day that our new school action stars werent bringing it these days and needed to do better. I’m glad The Rock stepped up …. This has all the hallmarks of a good action flick. Terrible Really clichéd writing, a totally unbelievable plot, flipping cars, shotgun blasts, and of course my favorite parts of action movies: the title that sounds awesome but doesn’t quite fit. Its like they come up with the title first and then think up an entire movie around it. If they work in a couple dozen throat punches, this will be one of my favorite movies of 2013.
